Olivia Rodrigo, the popular US singer, expressed her excitement about being a part of the soundtrack for the highly anticipated Hunger Games prequel, titled The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes. Rodrigo wrote and performed the song "Can't Catch Me Now" for the film, which features a talented cast including Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage. Being involved in this franchise brought Rodrigo immense joy, as she shared her enthusiasm on social media. Set years before the events of the first four films, which starred Jennifer Lawrence, the new Hunger Games prequel explores the early life of Coriolanus Snow, who ultimately becomes the tyrannical president of Panem. Tom Blyth portrays a young Snow, while Zegler stars as Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute in the Hunger Games. Viola Davis takes on the role of head gamemaker Dr Volumnia Gaul, and Peter Dinklage plays Casca Highbottom, the public face of the Hunger Games. The story follows Snow as he mentors Baird in the brutal and deadly Hunger Games, where young tributes from oppressed districts fight for their lives. The Hunger Games franchise is based on Suzanne Collins' bestselling dystopian novels, which are set in a post-apocalyptic America. Collins drew inspiration from Greek mythology, reality television, and her own upbringing as the daughter of a Vietnam War veteran. The themes explored in these novels include freedom, resistance against oppression, and the consequences of failed rebellions in Panem. The upcoming prequel is set 64 years before the events of The Hunger Games and delves into the "Dark Days" that led to the rebellion's downfall. Olivia Rodrigo's song "Can't Catch Me Now" will be released on November 3rd, while the film itself is scheduled for release on November 17th. With the success of her second studio album, Guts, which debuted at number one on the UK album chart, Rodrigo's involvement in the Hunger Games prequel adds to her already impressive career achievements.
