Elon Musk has called for the immediate firing of Disney CEO Bob Iger after the company ceased advertising on X. Musk criticized Iger in a series of posts, claiming that Walt Disney would be disappointed with what Iger has done to the company. This comes just a week after Musk told companies participating in an ad boycott of his platform to "Go [expletive] yourself." Some firms paused advertising on X due to concerns over antisemitism. Disney has not yet responded to these comments. Last year, Iger returned to Disney after retiring to navigate the company through challenging times. Musk also accused Disney of advertising on other social media platforms that allow controversial content. In a recent post, he referred to Disney's recent box-office performances and accused Iger of dropping "more bombs than a B-52." Musk has been vocal in expressing his displeasure with advertisers leaving X and accused companies like Disney, Apple, and Comcast of attempting to blackmail him. He made these comments at the New York Times' DealBook Summit, where Iger was also present. Linda Yaccarino, X's CEO, reposted Musk's comments and emphasized the platform's commitment to free speech. Musk recently visited Israel after facing criticism for appearing to support an antisemitic conspiracy theory. Advertisers had already been redirecting their spending elsewhere, causing a 50% decline in ad revenue on X.
