A man who survived a case of mushroom poisoning in Australia has been released from the hospital, according to his family. Ian Wilkinson had been in critical condition after consuming a beef Wellington meal prepared by Erin Patterson. Three people, including Wilkinson's wife, died from the poisoning, which is believed to have been caused by death cap mushrooms. Patterson, who is not being charged, insists it was an accident. Wilkinson left the hospital after nearly two months of treatment. The incident occurred during a lunch at Patterson's home in Leongatha, Victoria, where the guests fell ill shortly after the meal. Patterson denies any intention to harm her loved ones and claims the mushrooms used were a mixture of button mushrooms and dried mushrooms bought months ago. The case has caused suspicion to fall on Patterson, as she remained healthy while her guests suffered. She was also hospitalized but claims it was for liver damage prevention. Patterson has handed over the leftover food for examination by toxicologists and has admitted lying about a food dehydrator seized by the police during their investigation.
