Fatal Rocket Attacks Target Kyiv and Kharkiv, Resulting in Civilian Casualties

According to officials, five people have been killed and dozens wounded in Russian missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and the city of Kharkiv. In Kharkiv, three people were killed and 35 injured when residential buildings were hit early on Tuesday. The mayor of Kharkiv revealed that a block of flats was destroyed, and rescue workers were searching for survivors in the rubble. In Kyiv, a woman died and others were injured when a block of flats caught fire. The air raid in Kyiv lasted for over two and a half hours, making it the longest attack since 2 January. Ukraine's air force reported that it destroyed 21 out of 41 missiles launched by Russia. In Pavlohrad, at least one person was killed. Ukrainian officials expressed their frustration over the lack of weapons provided by Western allies, and the head of the presidential administration shared a video of the damage in Kharkiv, emphasizing the need for weapons. Ukrainian forces have also targeted Russian energy infrastructure, including an oil terminal in St. Petersburg, causing disruptions to operations for energy company Novatek.
