Yael Noy, the head of charity Road to Recovery, describes herself as being in battle after the Hamas assault on 7 October. Despite not wearing military fatigues, she feels she is fighting to stay moral and be the same person she was before the attack. Road to Recovery is a group of Israeli volunteers who transport sick Palestinians, mostly children, from checkpoints in the occupied West Bank and Gaza to hospital appointments in Israel. However, due to the attack, the charity can no longer operate in Gaza and four of their volunteers have been killed. Yael refuses to dehumanize the Palestinians and believes they are victims of Hamas, just like the Israelis. She is determined to continue helping them and plans to resume collecting patients from Gaza as soon as she can. Despite facing criticism from family and soldiers, Yael remains committed to her mission of bridging the divide between Israelis and Palestinians. Road to Recovery relies on support from the outside world to continue their work as donations from within Israel have significantly decreased. Yael is determined to keep going, saying it's her mission that she must fulfill.
