Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in the TV series Euphoria, has opened up about the impact of her co-star Angus Cloud's death on herself and their castmates. In an interview with Glamour, Sweeney, who is 26 years old, expressed how shocked they all were by Cloud's sudden passing in August. She revealed that the cast members were constantly on the phone with each other, crying, upon hearing the news. Cloud, who portrayed the character Fezco, a drug dealer, in the teen drama, tragically died at the age of 25 due to an accidental drug overdose. Euphoria, an HBO series that delves into the lives of troubled high school students, has gained significant popularity. The show is set to return for a third season in 2025, with filming commencing next year. Sweeney acknowledged that the true impact of Cloud's absence has yet to hit her and the cast, but it will likely become more evident during filming when they won't see him on set. She emphasized the strong bond between the cast members and how they support each other, albeit in different ways, especially when they are physically apart. Sweeney noted the unique experience of losing someone in the entertainment industry, where the individual remains alive in various forms through their work. In the wake of Cloud's death, she paid tribute to him on Instagram, expressing her deep sorrow and gratitude for having the opportunity to know him in this lifetime. Cloud had recently lost his father, and his family revealed that he had been intensely struggling with this loss. Since its premiere in June 2019, Euphoria has captivated audiences and received critical acclaim, even garnering a nomination for Best Drama Series at the Emmy Awards. The main character, Rue, portrayed by Zendaya, was introduced as a 17-year-old drug addict fresh out of rehab. Sweeney, who plays the character Cassie, a teenager with a promiscuous reputation, shared that this role serves as an emotional outlet for her. She described Cassie as the character closest to her own personality, particularly in the first season, and explained how it allows her to release and feel free when she returns home.
