Renowned musician Sir Rod Stewart recently decided to declutter his mansion and sold various items in an auction. The auction took place in Sheering, near Harlow, Essex, and generated approximately £50,000 in total after 40 lots were sold. Sworders, the auctioneers hosting the event in Stansted Mountfitchet, expressed their delight in being part of the bidding process. The items up for auction consisted of an assortment of modern, vintage, and antique pieces from Sir Rod's family home, most of which had been in storage. Notably, a 20th Century yachting painting fetched the highest price, selling for £16,900. Other notable sales included an early 19th Century giltwood console table and a George II-style carved pine pier table, which fetched £6,500 and £4,550 respectively. This auction followed the success of similar events held by Sir Rod in 2018 and 2019. Sworders' Director, John Black, emphasized the extra interest generated by celebrity involvement, and expressed his pleasure in hosting the sale.
