A search is currently underway in northern Australia for a former radio host who went missing while on a fishing trip in an area known for its crocodile population. Roman Butchaski, also known as Butch, failed to return to his campsite on Sunday, prompting concern from friends and family. Some of his belongings have since been located near a river on Queensland's remote Cape York Peninsula. It is reported that Butchaski, an experienced angler and former host of a fishing show on Sydney radio station 2GB, frequently visited this spot. His former co-host expressed his devastation and revealed concerns about Butchaski's health, as he suffers from diabetes. Additional police officers are being sent to assist in the search, which has involved rescue helicopters and ground crews scouring the area since Sunday. Authorities have found Butchaski's car and fishing gear near the river, and have highlighted the region's crocodile-infested nature. While crocodile attacks in Australia are rare, there have been notable incidents this year, including a fatal attack in February and the discovery of a fisherman's remains inside a crocodile in May.
