Rishi Sunak has promised to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Jewish community in the UK, following a series of antisemitic incidents. He emphasized that any acts of antisemitism would be met with the full force of the law. The Metropolitan Police noted a significant rise in antisemitic incidents after Hamas launched attacks on Israel. Sunak visited a Jewish school in North London, stating that the government would do everything possible to eliminate antisemitism and make the Jewish community feel safe. The government has provided the police with the necessary tools and guidance to handle pro-Palestinian protests. It is also illegal to support Hamas, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UK government, with potential jail time of up to 14 years. Sunak also discussed with the Israeli Prime Minister the importance of protecting civilians in Gaza. Diplomatic efforts are underway to de-escalate the conflict in Gaza. Concerns are growing regarding the situation in Gaza, particularly the welfare of trapped individuals. Doctors in Gaza have reported a high number of child casualties due to blast injuries. Efforts are being made to open the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt to allow foreigners and dual nationals to leave. However, conflicting reports have emerged regarding the possibility of a ceasefire and the shipment of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Israel's ambassador to the UK justified Israel's retaliation against Hamas, stating that it was a war initiated by Hamas and that Israel would eradicate the organization from Gaza.
