A teenage boy named Harry Pitman was tragically stabbed to death on New Year's Eve in north London, according to police. The incident took place in Primrose Hill, Camden, around 11:40 PM GMT. Despite receiving first aid, Mr. Pitman was pronounced dead just before midnight. At the scene, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. The Metropolitan Police revealed that the area was crowded with people watching fireworks during the time of the stabbing and appealed for any witnesses to come forward. Although Primrose Hill is not an official viewing area for London's New Year fireworks, people gather there to watch the display. The investigating officer, Det Ch Insp Geoff Grogan, expressed his condolences to Harry's family and friends, stating that the young man had his whole life ahead of him. He also mentioned that specially trained officers were providing support to the grieving family. The police believe that Harry was involved in a dispute which tragically resulted in his death. Witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are urged to come forward as the park was heavily crowded at the time. Local residents shared their shock and sadness at the incident, expressing how it was devastating for a teenager to be killed in the neighborhood. Some mentioned that Primrose Hill was popular among both locals and visitors, with families and young children present. Increased police presence was observed in the park, with officers redirecting people away from the area. The park remains closed for the day, with police tape cordoning off the crime scene and a forensic tent set up.
