According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), over 60 migrants are feared to have died in a shipwreck off the coast of Libya. Based on survivors' accounts, the UN agency reported that the boat had departed from Zuwara carrying approximately 86 people. Due to rough sea conditions, the vessel was overwhelmed by high waves, leading to 61 migrants, including children, going missing and being presumed dead. Libya is one of the key starting points for migrants attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea and reach Europe.
