School bus carrying children flips over causing a severe accident on M53

There has been a major incident at a children's hospital after a school coach overturned on a motorway in Wirral, Merseyside. According to the North West Ambulance Service, one person has sustained major trauma-related injuries, while 50 others are undergoing treatment. The coach collided with a motorway reservation early in the morning, as confirmed by the police. Several injured individuals are receiving treatment at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool. Calday Grange Grammar School has verified that one of their school buses was involved in the accident and is assisting affected students and their families. Local councillor Sherin Akhtar reported that the coach was en route to West Kirby Grammar School. Two air ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and the ambulance service is working with partners to transport people away from the area. Alder Hey hospital has declared a major incident, resulting in an extremely busy emergency department. The hospital is urging parents to only bring their children if it is urgent, as all other appointments and services are running as usual. The road has been closed in both directions, and motorists are advised to avoid the area. Health care workers who were on strike immediately returned to work to assist in the aftermath of the crash.
