The campaign launched its account with the username "@bidenhq" during the Super Bowl on Sunday. In a launch video, President Biden was interviewed about his preferences for the big game. The use of TikTok has been restricted by legislation signed by President Biden in 2022, with several states also adopting the measure. Lawmakers from both parties have raised concerns about the app, as it is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance, which has raised fears that the Chinese government may access user data. Despite these concerns, TikTok remains popular among young people in the US, a demographic that played a significant role in President Biden's election victory. Although the TikTok account will be managed by President Biden's campaign team, not the president himself, it will provide a platform for engaging with a younger audience. During the launch video, President Biden jokingly expressed support for the Philadelphia Eagles when asked about the Super Bowl teams he was rooting for. He was also asked about a Taylor Swift Super Bowl conspiracy theory, to which he responded with a joke. Recently, President Biden faced a setback in his re-election campaign due to a justice department inquiry into his handling of classified documents, which characterized him as an elderly man with a poor memory. However, the special counsel did not recommend charges against President Biden.
