Former spouse of Lauren Boebert apprehended following altercation at a Colorado eatery

Jayson Boebert, the ex-husband of Republican politician Lauren Boebert, has been arrested in Colorado following an apparent altercation with her at a restaurant. The charges against him include misdemeanour assault and criminal mischief. The police had been investigating the incident but it is unclear if the arrest is directly linked to it. Lauren and Jayson Boebert got divorced last year. Mr. Boebert was arrested and later released, as per jail records. He had called the police after the incident and claimed to be a victim of domestic violence. However, he had initially stated that he didn't intend to press charges against his ex-wife. Lauren Boebert denied punching him and said no one was arrested. She also mentioned consulting a lawyer regarding false accusations against her. This is not the first incident involving her disruptive behavior, as she was escorted out of a theatre in September for the same reason. Lauren Boebert is currently serving as the Republican representative for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District and has announced her plans to run in a different district in 2024. She referred to the restaurant incident as another reason for her proposed move.
