Ghanaian chef Failatu Abdul-Razak has potentially set a new world record by cooking for over 227 consecutive hours. In a touching moment, Abdul-Razak concluded the cookathon by saluting the crowd while proudly draped in Ghana's national flag. Prior to the cooking marathon, she expressed her commitment to her country, referring to the challenge as a "national assignment." Spectators cheered as she exited the hotel kitchen in Tamale. Abdul-Razak's team intends to submit the evidence to Guinness World Records for official verification of her achievement. The current record holder is Alan Fisher from Ireland, who cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes. Abdul-Razak stated that she wants to make it incredibly daunting for anyone who attempts to surpass her record in the future. The chef garnered immense support throughout the event, including from politicians, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia, various celebrities, and even the Ghanaian military. Similarly, last year, Hilda Baci from Nigeria made headlines for breaking the record until Fisher outperformed her. Additionally, in December, Ghanaian media personality Afua Asantewaa completed a five-day singing marathon, including on Christmas Day, with hopes of earning her own Guinness World Record.
