Tanzania Claims Student was Murdered by Hamas in Israel: Joshua Mollel

The Tanzanian government has confirmed that a Tanzanian student, Joshua Mollel, who was initially reported to have been taken hostage by Hamas in Israel, has been killed. Mollel was working as an agricultural intern at a kibbutz when it was attacked by Hamas gunmen on October 7th. Tanzania's Foreign Minister, January Makamba, stated that Mollel was killed immediately after being taken hostage. Another student, Clemence Felix Mtenga, was also killed in the attack. Mollel's father has been informed of his son's death. The government plans to send Mr. Mollel, a family member, and a government official to Israel for more information. The body of Joshua Mollel is currently being held by Hamas, according to Kibbutz Nahal Oz authorities. Initially, it was reported that Mollel and Mtenga were among the 240 people taken hostage by Hamas. The attack by Hamas resulted in the death of dozens of Kibbutz Nahal Oz residents and a total of 1,200 people have died in the Israeli operation in Gaza, according to Hamas.
