Ibrahim AlAgha, an Irish citizen, and his wife Hamida were enjoying a vacation with their three children in Gaza when the Israeli air strikes began. They wanted their children to be close to their relatives and understand their culture, but instead, they found themselves amidst bombings and explosions. As the situation escalated, they were forced to evacuate and seek shelter in Ibrahim's parents' house in Khan Younis. They were joined by other relatives and friends, making the house a home for 90 people. Life in the crowded house is difficult, with everyone trying to sleep in shifts and constant concerns about safety and survival. The lack of food, water, and electricity further adds to their struggles. The situation is especially hard on the children, who constantly ask for food and water. Ibrahim worries about the health of the group, particularly a pregnant woman and an elderly diabetic man who will run out of medicine soon. The children, including Ibrahim's own, are deeply affected by the events and are frightened by the sounds of strikes and explosions. While they attempted to leave Gaza, they were told to turn back by the Irish Embassy and now face uncertainty regarding their future plans. The increasing violence and attacks have overwhelmed them, and they fear for their lives every day. The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, making it harder for them to find hope for a resolution or evacuation.
