A lightning strike has caused a massive gas explosion at a recycling plant in Oxfordshire. The incident occurred at Severn Trent Green Power, which is located near Yarnton. According to the plant, biogas in a digester tank caught fire around 7:20 pm BST. Several videos and pictures taken from the A34, towards the northwest of Oxford, clearly show a large flash of light. Additionally, residents in Witney, Burford, Chipping Norton, and Milton-under-Wychwood have reported power blackouts. The recycling facility is currently working alongside emergency services to ensure the safety of the site.
