The police have released an image of a suspect with distinctive injuries who is wanted in connection with an alkali attack in south London. The suspect, Abdul Shakoor Ezedi, was last seen at a Tesco store in north London on Wednesday. The public has been advised not to approach him and to call 999 if they see him. Mr Ezedi had travelled to London from Newcastle and the image was taken from the Tesco store where he is believed to have bought a bottle of water. The police have described his injuries as significant, making him easily identifiable. The suspect attempted to escape in a car but crashed into another vehicle and ran away. He is believed to be known to the family who were attacked, although the exact relationship is unclear. The Metropolitan Police have stated that while it appears to be a targeted attack, they consider Mr Ezedi a dangerous individual who needs to be found urgently. There was increased police presence in the area on Thursday, and twelve people in total were injured in the attack. The London Ambulance Service responded to the incident and three members of the public who bravely came to the aid of the family have been discharged from hospital after receiving treatment for their injuries. Five officers who were injured during their response to the attack have also been discharged after receiving treatment. The mother and her daughters sustained substantial burns in the attack, but the full extent of their injuries is yet to be determined. Witnesses to the incident have been urged to contact the police with any information or relevant footage. A crime scene has been established and is expected to be in place for some time.
