A rugby player from the Barbarians team has confessed to sexually assaulting three women at a bar in Cardiff city centre. Api Ratuniyarawa, aged 37, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault that took place at Revolution between October 31 and November 1. Ratuniyarawa had initially been included in the Barbarians' squad to play against Wales last month but was subsequently dropped from the team. During the court hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, it was revealed that the attacks were separate incidents and that neither the victims nor Ratuniyarawa had any prior connection to one another. Ratuniyarawa's lawyer, Ruth Smith, requested an extension to his already strict bail conditions, citing his strong ties to the UK and emphasizing that he posed no risk of fleeing the country. The judge granted the request, but Ratuniyarawa is now required to remain at home between 19:00 and 07:00 GMT and report to the Northampton police station on a daily basis. Additionally, he is prohibited from entering Wales, except for his sentencing hearing, and from contacting his victims in any way. Previously, Ratuniyarawa played as a forward for London Irish before the club faced financial difficulties and was suspended from the Premiership. Although he was named in the Barbarians squad to face Wales on November 4, he was later charged with the offenses. The Barbarians team is known for assembling players from various clubs for multiple fixtures each year.
