Troye Sivan Triumphs at Aria Awards while Kylie Minogue Finds Success with Padam Padam

Troye Sivan had a successful night at the Aria Awards, winning four awards, including Song of the Year for "Rush" and Best Solo Artist. Upon accepting the Song of the Year award, Sivan expressed his astonishment, stating that it has been the most incredible week of his life. Expressing her disbelief and happiness, Minogue thanked everyone through a video acceptance speech. This brings Minogue's total Aria Music Awards to seventeen. Notably, she will be competing against Sivan again in the Grammy Awards for Best Pop Dance Recording. During the ceremony, Taylor Swift was honored with the Most Popular International Artist award, which was voted for by fans. Apart from the celebration, the event also witnessed calls for a ceasefire in the Middle East. Genesis Owusu, who won Album of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Release with "Struggler," urged the community to unite in putting an end to the atrocities occurring worldwide. Owusu specifically advocated for a ceasefire and the freedom of Palestine. Nic Cester, the frontman of rock band Jet, which was inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame, also addressed the ongoing conflict, emphasizing the destruction caused by war, racism, and politics when turning on the news. The Aria Awards have been promoted as the premier event in Australian music.
