Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is expanding his interests in space with the launch of two prototype satellites for his broadband mega-constellation, Project Kuiper. Bezos plans to deploy over 3,200 spacecraft in the next few years to provide global internet connections, aiming to rival Elon Musk's Starlink. The two small satellites, KuiperSat-1 and KuiperSat-2, will be launched into orbit by an Atlas-5 rocket. Bezos hopes to complete the full roll-out of the Kuiper system by July 2029, but potential launch failures and concerns about interference with astronomy remain challenges. Alongside Project Kuiper, Bezos is also developing other space projects through his company Blue Origin.
