A unique cyber scam has been targeting gullible men in India, promising them large sums of money in exchange for impregnating women. One victim, Mangesh Kumar, lost 16,000 rupees ($180; £142) to the fraudsters and they continue to demand more. The police have arrested eight men but are still looking for 18 others involved in the scam. Many victims are hesitant to come forward due to shame. The scammers use various tactics, including sending official-looking documents and photos of women for the victims to choose from. The scam highlights the need for increased awareness and protection against cyber crime in India, particularly as cases continue to rise during the Covid-19 pandemic.
