A number of major airlines have cancelled flights to Israel or warned of travel disruption due to the worsening security situation in the region. Virgin Atlantic and British Airways have both experienced delays and cancellations to flights to Tel Aviv, while three US carriers, Air France, Lufthansa, and Emirates have suspended their services to Israel. Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, claimed to have targeted Ben Gurion airport in Israel with missiles on Monday. The UK Foreign Office is advising against all but essential travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, as well as certain parts of the region. Virgin Atlantic has cancelled eight flights between Tel Aviv and London Heathrow until Wednesday, and Wizz Air and EasyJet have also cancelled flights until further notice. British Airways has modified its schedule so that flights depart in the morning instead of the afternoon. FlightRadar24 shows that some flights are still arriving and departing from Tel Aviv, but Ryanair has cancelled several flights and advised passengers to check for updates. United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and American Airlines have all suspended direct flights to Israel until further notice, and Polish and Hungarian nationals are being evacuated from the region. Royal Caribbean is adjusting its itineraries in the area, and the Association of British Travel Agents advises holidaymakers to discuss their options with their travel agent or tour operator.
