At Paris Fashion Week, Andreas Kronthaler, the partner of the late fashion designer Dame Vivienne Westwood, presented a new collection that provides a glimpse into the iconic designer's personal wardrobe. Kronthaler and Dame Vivienne were a formidable fashion duo, having collaborated under the Westwood brand since their marriage in 1992. This marks Kronthaler's second collection after Dame Vivienne's passing. In an interview with Hypebeast, Kronthaler revealed that the looks showcased on the Paris runway were inspired by "all the clothes Vivienne wore and all the clothes we made together over the past 30 years." To select the pieces for the collection, Kronthaler photographed and assigned numbers to more than 200 outfits kept at their home. He then put all the numbers in a hat and randomly chose 34, emphasizing that these were the years he shared with Vivienne. Dame Vivienne Westwood, who passed away last year, rose to fame with her daring and controversial punk and new wave styles in the 1970s. She became renowned for dressing numerous prominent figures in the fashion world. Additionally, she was recognized as a passionate activist, fearlessly using the catwalk as a platform to raise awareness for causes she deeply cared about, including climate change. The current collection curated by Kronthaler pays tribute to the couple's shared history. Bold fashion choices were carefully selected to honor their time together. Throughout their partnership, Kronthaler and Dame Vivienne often appeared together on the runway, frequently celebrating their shows with a kiss.
