Russia and Ukraine have conducted a prisoner swap, marking the first exchange of captured soldiers since the crash of a Russian plane. Russian officials have announced that both sides have received 195 soldiers back in this exchange. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that 207 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians were returned on Wednesday. However, doubts have emerged in Kyiv regarding Moscow's claim that Ukrainian prisoners of war were on the plane that crashed in Russia last week. The latest information gathered from the flight recorders of the military transport plane, Il-76, by Russian investigators suggest that the aircraft was shot down by a missile in the western Belgorod region. Previously, the Russian military had asserted that the plane was carrying 65 Ukrainian soldiers who were en route to the area for a prisoner exchange.
