Heavy rain and flooding continue to affect England in the aftermath of Storm Henk. Nottinghamshire has declared a major incident, with hundreds of residents being evacuated from their homes. A yellow warning for rain issued by the Met Office is in force until Friday morning. Numerous train routes have been closed, leading to travel disruption. River levels are rising along the River Trent, and authorities are warning that levels could reach record highs. Other areas that have experienced flooding include Worcestershire, Bedford, Northamptonshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, North Yorkshire, and Sussex. The UK Health Security Agency has also issued a cold weather alert for England starting on Saturday. Storm Henk began on Tuesday with strong winds and heavy rain, resulting in two fatalities. Local farms have also suffered significant damage, prompting calls for increased investment in river defenses to protect UK food production.
