Thousands of individuals joined a demonstration against antisemitism in central London, with the presence of English Defence League founder Tommy Robinson causing controversy. The rally, organized by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, marked the first large-scale event of its kind since the Israel-Gaza conflict. The march took place in response to pro-Palestinian protests calling for a permanent ceasefire. The British government and police emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of the Jewish community amid concerns over rising tensions. Prominent figures such as former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, TV personality Robert Rinder, actor Tracy-Ann Oberman, and Countdown host Rachel Riley attended the event. Participants of all ages gathered at the Royal Courts of Justice, displaying placards and flags with messages condemning antisemitism. Authorities had anticipated potential disruption by Mr. Robinson, who had previously clashed with police during counter-protests on Armistice Day. The Metropolitan Police subsequently arrested a 40-year-old man in close proximity to the starting point of the march. The demonstration coincided with ongoing negotiations for the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners during a delicate truce in Gaza.
