The Rolling Stones have achieved yet another milestone in their legendary career. They have become the first musical act to have a place in the top 10 of the Billboard chart with new albums in every decade since the 1960s. Their latest studio album, "Hackney Diamonds," has made an impressive entry at number three on the chart. This achievement has extended their record as the act with the most top 10 albums in the United States, with a total of 38, surpassing Barbra Streisand, who is in second place with 34. The success of "Hackney Diamonds" is not only limited to the United States. In the United Kingdom, the album has secured the top spot on the charts, marking the 14th time the Rolling Stones have achieved this feat. This collection of original songs is their first since 2005 and features collaborations with notable artists such as Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga, Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and former Stones bassist Bill Wyman. The release of "Hackney Diamonds" also holds a special significance as it is the band's first studio album following the tragic passing of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021. Speaking at the album launch in Hackney, east London, guitarist Keith Richards acknowledged the impact of Watts' absence, stating, "Ever since Charlie's gone, it's been different, he's number four. Of course, he's missed." Steve Jordan, who had previously filled in for Watts on tour, takes on the drumming duties for the album. Apart from their achievement in the top 10 and top spot on the charts, the Rolling Stones hold records for the most US number one albums in the most decades, with six in total. While "Hackney Diamonds" is yet to reach number one in 2023, a reissue of their 1973 album "Goats Head Soup" accomplished this feat in 2020. Consequently, the only decade without a Rolling Stones album at number one is the 2000s. In the UK, the Rolling Stones now stand alongside Robbie Williams with 14 number one albums, encompassing greatest hits albums, reissues, and live LPs. However, the Beatles still hold the record with 16 number one albums in the UK. Additionally, the Rolling Stones have been honored with a Brit Billion Award for surpassing one billion streams in the UK. The influence of the Rolling Stones extends beyond the realm of streaming. "Hackney Diamonds" topped the UK Official Vinyl Albums Chart, proving their continued popularity among vinyl enthusiasts. When asked about future plans, Ronnie Wood confirmed that an American tour is currently in the works for next year, although specific dates have not been announced. As for a potential appearance at the renowned Glastonbury Festival, Wood expressed a strong desire, stating, "I'd love it. I think it's a must."
