Taylor Swift has been named Time Magazine's person of the year, marking the end of a successful 2023 for the star. Following in the footsteps of influential figures like Barack Obama, Greta Thunberg, and Volodymyr Zelensky, Swift expressed her pride and happiness at being recognized by the magazine. However, Swift also opened up about the physical toll her Eras tour performances took on her, often leaving her feeling exhausted. She revealed that after a run of shows, she would not leave her bed except to eat her meals there, as her feet would ache from constant dancing in heels. Time editor-in-chief, Sam Jacobs, praised Swift for being the author and protagonist of her own story, transcending borders and spreading positivity. This year, Swift also achieved remarkable success with the release of her re-recorded album 1989, which became the best-selling record of the year. Additionally, she had two other albums, Midnights and Speak Now (Taylor's Version), on the list of top-selling albums in America. Swift's accomplishments extend beyond music, as she was recently declared a billionaire by Bloomberg. What sets Swift apart is that she achieved billionaire status solely through her music, unlike other musicians whose fortunes are buoyed by their ventures in fashion, beauty products, or hi-fi equipment. Currently, Swift is taking a break before embarking on the Asian and Australian legs of her Eras tour in February, followed by Europe in May. She is also expected to release a re-recorded version of her Reputation album in the new year. Swift's decision to re-record her first six albums came after her master tapes were sold by her old record label to Scooter Braun in 2019 and later to an investment company. Initially hesitant about the idea, Swift eventually embraced it as an act of rebellion and a response to loss. Furthermore, she addressed her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, stating that by the time she attended his game in September, they were already a couple, clarifying that it was not their first date.
