The suspected serial killer, Rex Heuermann, has been charged with an additional murder in New York. Heuermann, 60, was already facing charges for three murders that occurred over a decade ago, believed to be part of a series of killings on Long Island that may have up to 11 victims. During his court appearance, Heuermann pleaded not guilty to the charges. He has been held without bail at Suffolk County Jail. One of the victims, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, was found in December 2010 during a search for another missing person. In total, 11 sets of human remains were discovered along Gilgo Beach between 2010 and 2011, connected to nine women, one man, and a toddler. The identities of four victims, including the toddler, her mother, and the man, have yet to be determined.
