Jesse Armstrong, the creator of the TV series Succession, has dismissed the idea of spin-off shows for the award-winning drama. Despite previous hints at spin-offs, Armstrong stated that it doesn't interest him. He believes that he and his writing team have already written enough for the characters. Matthew Macfadyen, who played Tom Wambsgans in the show, also expressed skepticism about a spin-off for his character. While he wouldn't completely rule it out, he believes it is highly unlikely. The show revolved around media mogul Logan Roy and his four children, who were all vying for the CEO position in his successful company. Armstrong admitted that it was tough to leave the show after four critically acclaimed seasons but also expressed a sense of relief. He revealed that the show drew inspiration from real-life figures, such as Rupert Murdoch, along with historical references like ancient Rome. Armstrong previously worked on the BBC comedy series The Thick of It and mentioned that the political climate could still be satirized, although the approach may need to change. As for his future plans, Armstrong said he had a few ideas but hadn't fully developed them yet. He expressed satisfaction with the work he had done on Succession but looked forward to exploring new projects.
