The S Club reunion tour kicked off with a heartfelt tribute to their late bandmate Paul Cattermole, who passed away suddenly six months ago. The performance included footage of Paul singing "Good Times" along with clips from his time with the group. Bradley McIntosh, overcome with emotion, described Paul as their brother and assured the audience that he will never be forgotten. Paul died at the age of 46 in April due to an underlying heart condition. His death came just weeks after the announcement of the band's first tour in eight years to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Despite Paul's absence, five of the original seven members took the stage in vibrant outfits to perform their hit songs like "S Club Party" and "Don't Stop Movin'." They then exited the stage, allowing a video of Paul singing "Good Times" to play. The group returned in black sequined costumes to join Paul on vocals at the end of the song, each of them paying tribute to him and their fans. During the show, the band expressed their gratitude for the support from their fans and Paul's family. Jo O'Meara thanked everyone and asked the crowd to make heart shapes with their hands in honor of Paul. Jon Lee dedicated the performance to Paul and the British Heart Foundation. Rachel Stevens expressed her love and appreciation for the fans, and Tina Barrett thanked Manchester while declaring the evening as a celebration for Paul. The band closed the night with their debut single, "Bring It All Back." The energetic performance took the audience back to a nostalgic era with hits like "Reach," "Have You Ever," and "Never Had A Dream Come True." The group also performed their first new song in 20 years, "These Are The Days," which was dedicated to Paul and the memories they shared. They ended the night with a dance remix of their iconic song "S Club Party." Hannah Spearritt, the band's former girlfriend and member, recently explained that she dropped out of the reunion due to struggles with her mental and physical health, exacerbated by the stress of Paul's passing. Instead, she has joined the upcoming series of ITV's Dancing on Ice. The remaining band members will continue their tour, beginning in Liverpool and performing in 13 more cities, including a return to Manchester and three shows at London's O2 Arena.
