According to a local official, a missile strike carried out by Russia in the Ukrainian town of Pokrovsk has resulted in the death of 11 individuals, including five children. Pokrovsk is located in the Donetsk region, which is currently under Ukrainian control. The governor of the region, Vadim Filashkin, confirmed that the town was hit by S-300 missiles. In a post on Telegram, Filashkin condemned the attack, stating that the enemy is deliberately targeting civilians in an attempt to inflict as much misery as possible on Ukrainian soil. Russia has not yet responded to these allegations. Situated approximately 70km northwest of Donetsk city, which is occupied by Russian forces, Pokrovsk had a population of around 60,000 people before the war. It has been repeatedly targeted since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. In a previous incident in August, a Russian missile attack on residential buildings in the town resulted in the death of at least seven individuals and left numerous others wounded.
