According to BBC reports, Russell Brand has been questioned by the Metropolitan Police regarding six additional allegations of historical sex offenses. It is understood that he was interviewed under caution on 14 December. The accusations of rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse against the British comedian and actor were exposed by investigations carried out by the Sunday Times, the Times, and Channel 4's Dispatches. Brand had previously denied these claims. The Metropolitan Police stated that a man in his 40s attended a police station in south London on 14 December, having already been questioned on 16 November in relation to three other allegations. The man has now been questioned regarding a total of nine alleged offenses, while the investigation remains ongoing. The story first emerged in The Times. In September, the Metropolitan Police announced their intention to investigate allegations of non-recent sexual offenses after receiving multiple reports. They urged anyone who believed they may be a victim of such offenses, regardless of the time that had passed, to contact them. In the same month, the Times, Sunday Times, and Channel 4's Dispatches revealed that four women had accused Brand, 48, of sexual offenses, including rape, allegedly committed between 2006 and 2013. The investigation also reported inappropriate behavior and controlling conduct exhibited by Brand in the workplace. Brand, who has held various jobs at Channel 4 and BBC Radio 2 during that period, has yet to respond to the BBC's request for comment. He had previously stated that all his relationships have always been consensual. Just prior to the publication of the investigation in September, Brand shared a video on social media denying the "serious criminal allegations" that were to be made against him and asserting the consensual nature of his relationships. Subsequently, Brand released another video in which he criticized the mainstream media without directly addressing the accusations leveled against him.
