Four people, including two children, fatally stabbed in violent incident in Queens, New York

Four individuals, including two children, have tragically lost their lives in a stabbing incident that occurred in Queens, New York. The police were alerted to the situation early on Sunday morning, arriving at the Far Rockaway neighborhood to find the victims inside a home that had also been set ablaze. As the officers approached the scene, the suspect attacked them, stabbing two of them. In response, one of the injured officers retaliated by shooting the assailant. The suspect was rushed to the hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities revealed that they received a distressing 911 call from a young female who reported that her cousin was killing members of their family. Upon arrival at the address provided, two officers encountered an individual leaving the premises with luggage. When they attempted to engage with the person, he produced a knife and attacked both officers. One of the officers managed to use his firearm and shot the suspect. Subsequently, upon further investigation, an 11-year-old girl was discovered outside the house and was transported to a hospital. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries. Emergency services later found the bodies of three more individuals inside the residence: a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s. Furthermore, a 61-year-old woman was also found with multiple stab wounds and taken to the hospital. The authorities believe that all victims lost their lives due to the stabbings. A kitchen steak knife was recovered from the scene. The suspect has been identified as 39-year-old Courtney Gordon, who had a previous arrest record for domestic violence in the Bronx. Gordon was visiting his relatives in Queens during the time of the attack. The investigation is currently ongoing, and the individual who placed the 911 call is being interviewed at the police station.
