Prince William has expressed his gratitude for the support he and his family have received following the recent diagnosis of cancer for his father, King Charles. Speaking at a charity event for London's Air Ambulance, Prince William thanked attendees for their kind messages. Hollywood star Tom Cruise was also in attendance, and Prince William jokingly asked him to refrain from borrowing any of the helicopters. The prince spoke about the importance of supporting the air ambulance service and the need for new helicopters. He did not provide any updates on the progress of his father or his wife Catherine. The Prince of Wales, earlier in the day, carried out an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle and participated in other public engagements. The King will continue his constitutional duties but will step back from public events during treatment for his undisclosed cancer. A message from the King, which does not mention his health, was published on the Royal Family's website. The King recently had a brief meeting with his son Prince Harry, but there are no plans for a reconciliation between him and Prince William.
