Italian luxury fashion brand Prada is teaming up with Axiom Space to design space suits for NASA astronauts for the 2025 moon mission. Prada will bring its expertise in materials and manufacturing to the project, according to a press release by Axiom. NASA astronaut Professor Jeffrey Hoffman praised Prada's design experience and suggested they could make technical contributions to the outer layers of the space suit. However, he clarified that the focus would be on functionality rather than fashion, stating that maintaining a good thermal environment is crucial. Axiom had previously unveiled a space suit for the Artemis 3 mission, which was said to be a better fit for female travelers. The collaboration between Prada and Artemis aims to enhance lunar exploration through innovative technologies and design.
