Ibrahim Abuimeir, a 21-year-old football player, along with his teammates Ahmed Kullab and Khaled Al-Nabris, are unable to participate in the World Cup Qualifiers as they are stuck in Gaza. Every day, they face the threat of being killed due to the ongoing conflict. Ibrahim himself narrowly escaped an air strike that destroyed his house and killed 17 of his neighbors. The players are grateful to have survived so far, but they miss playing the sport they love. The conditions in Gaza are tough, with a scarcity of water and constant bombing. Despite the challenges, the trainers of the Palestinian national football team believe it is important for the team to continue playing as a way to showcase Palestinian resilience and strive for the dream of an officially recognized state.
