Folla Saqer and her two children have been trapped in Gaza since the war broke out, waiting for an opportunity to cross into Egypt and return to the US. While hundreds of foreign passport holders and injured Gazans were allowed through the Rafah crossing on Wednesday, there is a lack of clear information and communication from government officials, causing growing frustration among Palestinian Americans trying to leave Gaza. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Folla's husband, Ramiz Younis, has filed a federal lawsuit accusing the US government of discrimination and neglect towards its citizens. Similarly, the Okal family from Massachusetts, who were visiting Gaza, are also stuck and facing dire conditions. Despite their efforts to contact the state department and US embassies, they have been unable to leave Gaza. The situation has raised concerns about the safety of American citizens in Gaza, as the conflict continues.
