Officials have announced the arrest of Felix Herrera-Garcia, the husband of the owner of a nursery in New York City, where a child died from suspected fentanyl poisoning. Herrera-Garcia was captured on camera fleeing the Bronx nursery with large bags, and he had been on the run until now. This arrest marks the fourth arrest in connection with the death of one-year-old Nicholas Dominici. The police discovered a substantial amount of fentanyl and other drugs hidden under a trapdoor at the nursery. Herrera-Garcia was apprehended by the US Drug Enforcement Administration and Mexican officials on a bus in Sinaloa, Mexico. The nursery owner, Grei Mendez, and her tenant, Carlisto Acevedo Brito, are already facing federal charges related to narcotics possession and distribution resulting in death, along with conspiracy charges. Three other children were exposed to fentanyl and admitted to the hospital, with traces of the drug confirmed in their urine. Parra Paredes, another individual involved in drug trafficking operations at the daycare center, has also been arrested. The incident has shocked the Kingsbridge Heights neighborhood in the Bronx, which currently has the highest rate of drug overdose deaths in New York City.
