Kelly Bayer Rosmarin, the CEO of Australian telecom company Optus, has resigned following a nationwide outage and multiple challenges during her tenure. Under her leadership, the company faced a major network failure that left almost half of Australia disconnected and a significant data breach last year. In a statement, Bayer Rosmarin expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve but believed it was now appropriate for her to step down. Optus' chief financial officer, Michael Venter, will take over temporarily as the company searches for a new CEO. Optus' parent company Singtel's CEO expressed understanding and thanked Bayer Rosmarin for her work during a difficult period. The focus now for Optus is regaining customer trust and setting a path of renewal for the benefit of the community and customers.
