Two former contestants on the TV show All American Girl have filed a lawsuit against British television executive Nigel Lythgoe, accusing him of sexual assault. The alleged incidents took place during the filming of the series in 2003, with the contestants claiming that Lythgoe openly groped them and made unwanted advances even after the show had ended. This comes shortly after singer Paula Abdul also sued Lythgoe, accusing him of multiple instances of assault. The 74-year-old producer has denied the allegations from Abdul, expressing shock at the claims. The two women are suing Lythgoe for sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, while remaining anonymous. Lythgoe is facing legal action from both Abdul and the former contestants of All American Girl, with Abdul alleging assaults during their time working together on American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. In one instance, Abdul claims she was assaulted by Lythgoe in an elevator during regional auditions for American Idol, while another alleged assault occurred during a professional meeting at his home. Lythgoe's representatives have been contacted for a response to these allegations.
