Two children of popular Nigerian actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, have been arrested for allegedly stealing money that was raised to pay for his hospital fees. Last year, Okafor had his leg amputated after fans had donated to a crowd-funding scheme. His son Daniel Okafor and adopted daughter Jasmine Chioma are accused of hacking into his phone and taking $60,700 for themselves. The siblings have not commented since their arrest and remain in custody, though they could be freed if a $17,000 bond is posted. The police's criminal investigation unit discovered that the pair had allegedly installed an app on their father's phone to transfer money out of his account. They are expected to appear in court on 11 March. Okafor's health issues first came to public attention in October when his family posted a video on social media asking for help with medical bills. Mr Ibu is known for his role in the Nigerian comedy of the same name and has acted in numerous other movies throughout his career. He has a total of 13 children, some of whom were adopted.
