According to reports, a man in South Korea was killed after being crushed by a robot at a pepper sorting plant. The incident occurred when the man, an employee of a robotics company, was inspecting the robot. The robot's arm mistook the man for a box of vegetables and pushed him against a conveyor belt, resulting in severe injuries to his face and chest. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he did not survive. It is reported that the robot's main task was to lift boxes of peppers and transfer them onto pallets. The man was conducting sensor tests on the robot ahead of its scheduled test run at the plant. Originally planned for 6 November, the test was delayed due to sensor issues. The victim, who worked for the company that manufactured the robotic arm, was working late into the night when the malfunction occurred. Following the incident, officials from the plant emphasized the need for a precise and safe system to prevent such accidents from happening again. Unfortunately, this is not the first incident involving robots causing harm in South Korea. Earlier this year, a man in his 50s suffered serious injuries after getting trapped by a robot at an automobile parts manufacturing plant.
