Police have announced that a man suspected of killing 18 people in a shooting in Maine has been found dead after a three-day manhunt. The Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office confirmed the news on Facebook, stating that the suspect had been located and was deceased. This update came shortly after authorities lifted a shelter-in-place order for the community, which is typically peaceful. Among the victims were a grandfather, a talented young bowler, and four deaf individuals aged 14 to 76. Details regarding the discovery of the suspect's body and the cause of his death remain unclear. The police are scheduled to hold a news conference from Lewiston City Hall later in the day. They had already released the names of all the victims earlier on Friday. Additionally, hunting has been barred in several towns in the area to prevent gunshots that may prompt emergency calls. While officials claimed that a note was found at a property associated with the suspect, suggesting it was a suicide note addressed to his son, investigators have not confirmed this information and have chosen not to provide further details about its contents.
