Jennifer Lopez, the singer and actress, is teaming up with Mattel to bring Bob the Builder to Puerto Rico in a new film. The character will be renamed Roberto and will be voiced by Anthony Ramos, known for his role in Hamilton. The movie, co-produced by Lopez, will explore the meaning of building and celebrate Caribbean Latin nations. Bob the Builder, a popular children's show that aired on BBC TV and global channels, followed the adventures of Bob, his colleague Wendy, and their friends as they work together to complete construction projects. Ramos, also a co-producer, expressed pride in incorporating elements inspired by his own life into the film, highlighting the theme of friendship and love conquering obstacles. The success of Greta Gerwig's Barbie film has spurred the development of other children's characters for the big screen, including Polly Pocket and Barney the Dinosaur. Mattel is also working on adaptations of Hot Wheels, Masters of the Universe, Matchbox, and Thomas & Friends.
