Electrogenic, a company specializing in converting classic cars into electric vehicles, has successfully completed a project for Hollywood actor Jason Momoa. The Kidlington-based company has transformed Momoa's 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II into a fully electric car, replacing its original 7.7-liter straight-six engine with a silent electric powertrain. Momoa expressed that Electrogenic was the perfect choice for this project, as he needed a team that would appreciate the car's historical significance while modernizing its technology. He praised Electrogenic for their ability to honor vintage cars by maintaining their character during the conversion process. The company removed the car's original petrol engine and gearbox, replacing them with batteries that were seamlessly integrated into the car's structure. Steve Drummond, the director of Electrogenic, described the project as a labor of love and expressed his joy in working with Momoa for 18 months to bring his vision to life. Additionally, the converted Rolls-Royce now includes a multi-speaker HiFi system with Bluetooth connectivity. Drummond revealed the company's immense pride in completing the car and stated that they were humbled by Momoa's trust in their expertise. The car conversion project will be featured in Momoa's new series, On The Roam, which will air on Discovery+.
