Jada Pinkett Smith recently revealed that she and her husband Will Smith have been working hard on their marriage after separating in 2016. Despite appearing together in public, the couple has been living separately. Pinkett Smith stated in an interview with NBC that they are focused on healing their relationship. Last year, the couple made headlines when Will Smith confronted host Chris Rock at the Oscars, defending his wife by shouting, "keep my wife's name out of your [expletive] mouth." Pinkett Smith's disclosure about their relationship garnered global attention. During an interview with NBC's Today Show, she expressed that they are now in a deep healing phase and are dedicated to bringing their relationship back to a strong partnership. Both Pinkett Smith and Will Smith accept each other's flaws and aim to love each other unconditionally. Pinkett Smith also mentioned the possibility of living together again. She revealed during a book launch event that she had contemplated a legal divorce but ultimately decided to work through their issues. She attributed the breakdown of their relationship to various factors and admitted that by 2016, they were exhausted from trying. Speculation about their marriage arose in 2020 when the couple discussed Pinkett Smith's "entanglement" with artist August Alsina on her Facebook show Red Table Talk. Pinkett Smith and Will Smith first met in 1994 during her audition for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and got married in 1997. They have two children together, Jaden Smith and Willow Smith, as well as Trey Smith, Will Smith's son from his previous marriage.
