Twelve Thais have lost their lives and 11 more have been taken hostage in the conflict between Israel and Hamas militants. Thailand's foreign ministry revealed that an additional eight Thai nationals have been injured. The ministry also stated that the air force is prepared to evacuate its citizens. Around 30,000 Thais, employed in various sectors including healthcare and construction, are currently in Israel, alongside workers from over 50 other nations. Over 5,000 Thai laborers are positioned in the fighting zone, but Israeli forces have begun moving them to safety. One thousand and ninety-nine workers have signed up to return home. Workers at a farm near the Gaza Strip recounted the harrowing experience of being stormed by Hamas militants after rockets were fired. One worker, Udomporn Champahom, managed to escape while his companion sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Another worker shared a similar tale of being pulled out from under a truck and threatened at gunpoint before escaping. Sadly, Wanida Maarsa's husband, Anucha Angkaew, was among those taken captive by the militants. Anucha appeared in a video released by Hamas, confirming his situation. Several other countries, such as the US, Nepal, and Germany, reported casualties, abductions, or missing citizens amid the ongoing unrest in Israel. Nepal stated that ten of its students had been killed while working on an Israeli farm, with an additional citizen missing and four others injured. India is also actively engaged in bringing back its nationals from Israel, where an estimated 18,000 Indian citizens live and work.
